Since 2004, The Main Wayang Company (TMWC) has been promoting & keeping the Peranakan Baba Culture alive through events, shows & music. ‘It’s Time For Sayang Sayang’ is the 3rd music production by TMWC. All the music on this CD are original compositions by TMWC which aim to entertain, inspire & educate all Babas, Nyonyas & anyone who loves the Peranakan Baba Culture in Singapore, Malaysia & the rest of the world! The song ‘It’s Time For Sayang Sayang’ has been TMWC’s signature tune & truly one of the most popular & endearing original Peranakan songs through the years. Hence, it is only apt that we title this CD after this song to share our ‘sayang’ (love) with our ‘family & friends’ & you! The songs in this CD also inspired the multi-media musical ‘Siapa Baba?’ TMWC would like to say a big kamsiah (thank you) to the following people; Our cultural advisor Baba William Gwee for his contribution of ‘Di Kebun Bunga’, guest singer Gani Abdul Karim for his support and vocal talent, our Main Wayang singers; Jacqueline Pereira, Jessie Cheang, Sarah Keoni, Nadia & Nadine Kang, Alexandra Tan, Tony Quek, Joseph Goh, Richard Tan, Kelvin Tan, Denzil Kwa, Darius, Doran & Alvin Oon and Melodie Ng for playing the rebana.
